Amazon’s Cross Channel Marketing Team (XCM) is looking for an experienced, detail oriented Sr. Digital Asset Manager (DAM) to support our marketing, photography, and video assets across our design and adverting teams. This role will have significant experience onboarding, implementing, and scaling digital asset management tools from concept to roll out, and brings scalable approaches with a deep understanding of digital media. This is a hands-on role, responsible for both system management and executional efforts, as well as defining the ongoing mechanisms for maintenance. They will define success metrics, develop measurement processes, and make recommendations based on program results. This role will act as a champion and administrator for the in-house digital asset management system and improve and maintain the metadata model and file taxonomy. This role will drive tool adoption across our global organization and become a pivotal part of defining the strategies for scaling asset delivery to all partners.

To be successful in this role, the candidate will be will be able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Well versed in digital file formats with experience managing photography and creative libraries within the marketing and advertising space. They will manage projects with multiple deliverables in a timely fashion and ensure all deadlines are met across teams and key stakeholders. They will demonstrate strong ownership and bias for action, remain proactive with strategic solutions, collaborate across internal teams and stakeholders, and maintain clear and concise communication across all levels of leadership.

Responsibilities for this role include the following:

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, experience educating non-technical stakeholders and working across multiple teams and regions.
  • Able to independently manage programs and create tactical plans from ambiguous challenges, but knows how to escalate in a solutions-oriented manner.
  • Define, implement, and manage asset categorization, labels, taxonomies, and metadata standards that are robust, scalable, and user-friendly.
  • Establish and maintain file-naming conventions and metadata standards across multiple digital asset categories. Evaluate metadata model regularly for adjustments and additions as business evolves.
  • Develop workflows for DAM asset ingestion, categorization, permissions management, version control, delivery, and expiration to internal and external users.
  • Administer the day-to-day operations of a global enterprise-level DAM system. Own the ongoing ingestion, organization, and maintenance of the DAM, ensuring that duplicate, non-compliant, and obsolete files are deprecated in a timely manner.
  • Maintain system stability and perform backups, customizations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and infrastructure planning.
  • Manage internal user account creation and permissions, and perform routine user audits to ensure all users follow internal compliance measures.
  • Train and onboard new users to the DAM system and assist with questions from existing users.
  • Partner with post-production teams to ingest digital media and related documents to the DAM.
  • On-board external creative agencies on how to properly file name and deliver all creative assets.
  • Develop and update program documentations, wikis, and provide inputs to monthly or quarterly business review documents
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology
  • Experience with end to end product delivery
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience overseeing roadmap strategy and definition
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6-8+ years of digital asset management experience working with an enterprise-level DAM system.
  • Bachelor’s degree in library information science, digital media, archival studies, or similar experience.
  • Deep knowledge of video, audio, and image encoding formats and industry best practices.
  • Experience working on or with large-scale, global creative campaigns.
  • Previous experience with metadata schema development & input, organizing a large amount of files, high-resolution file transmissions (FTP, servers, etc.), file naming conventions, and database reporting.
  • Experience in DAM migration and consolidation.
  • Experience in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Bridge, Lightroom, and Capture One.
  • Ability to work on a diverse team or with a diverse range of coworkers.
