Senior Content Architect

Enterprise Knowledge is looking for a Senior Content Architect to support our growing Technology Solutions practice in Arlington, VA. In this role, you will design and implement the overall content architecture of client organizations. This includes the organization, categorization, storage, and distribution of content as well as componentized content across various systems, applications, and platforms.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement content strategies that align with the business goals and objectives of the organization. This includes identifying content requirements, creating content governance policies, and defining content workflows.
  • Design content architecture for the organization, including developing content models, taxonomies, and metadata structures to ensure that content is organized in a way that is easily discoverable, reusable, and maintainable.
  • Manage and administer content systems and platforms that are used to create, store, and distribute content. This includes selecting and implementing content management systems (CMS), digital asset management systems (DAM), and other related technologies.
  • Closely collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, including content creators, editors, marketers, product managers, and IT teams, to ensure that content is created and managed in a way that aligns with the overall content strategy and architecture of the organization.
  • Evangelize advanced content management across the enterprise.
  • Assist Project Manager in identifying and communicating risks, and helping to ensure the project optimizes knowledge management and business outcomes.
  • Lead strategic content architecture to maximize business outcomes and ROI for client organizations.
  • Mentor and grow junior content strategists and content engineers to build overall team capacity.
Required Skills and Experience:

  • 2+ years of consulting experience in knowledge management and/or content management.
  • Expert-level skill in content modeling, componentized content modeling for content reuse, efficiency, omnichannel delivery, and personalization
  • Ability to design and develop detailed content models and specifications that are ready to be delivered to an implementation team
  • Understanding of technical concepts like APIs, search, front end applications in order to collaborate with technical teams around the impact on content
  • Understanding of knowledge graphs and domain modeling
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating engaging focus groups, interviews, and user research sessions to understand complex business and technical requirements which impact content models and systems.
  • Expertise gathering and elaborating technical requirements related to content management and content operation systems
  • Expertise establishing and championing content architecture and integration strategies
  • Proven ability to facilitate enterprise-wide alignment on taxonomies
  • Ability to build and communicate about the content models/schemas that enable business goals and content strategies
  • Interest in developing as a consultant and taking on additional responsibilities for winning and delivering work
Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or equivalent professional experience
  • Understanding of the impacts of content models on search and information retrieval.
  • Understanding of XML or DITA
  • Experience using visual diagramming tools such as Lucidchart
  • Experience architecting content systems leveraging FedRAMPed technologies and secure Federal environments
