As a Senior Content Strategist working on the Content Operations & Strategy team, your contributions to our customer experiences are exponential. You create the content standards and guidelines that drive all digital experiences and the organization of them at Sallie Mae.

Within our cross-functional team, you will partner with designers, developers, content authors, product/project managers to continuously evolve content standards.

You are the driver of a cohesive content implementation within our CMS, and you’ll also work closely with our partners from brand, business, and accessibility to ensure that we maintain the highest standards for both.

  • Be the glue between operational delivery and content strategy and build your reputation with the CX team and business partners through your collaboration, inclusive thinking, and expertise.
  • Drive a content architecture and taxonomy that reflects the content delivery storage and strategy.
  • Serve as centralized hub of organization and communications of digital content calendar and readiness coordinating with teams to plan, organize and upload, disburse and audit digital brand, SEO, and product content in DAM.
  • Highly proactive content enthusiast experienced in creating, optimizing, and communicating process, leading the cross-functional charge in on-time delivery of initiatives, and navigating teams through change.
  • Presenting your work to various stakeholders, explaining your rationale and how your recommendations align with both business and customer goals.
  • Conducting audits of the experience ecosystem to identify shared content/writing needs and issues that the design system may need to solve for
  • Documenting internal team standards and processes related to content creation with a vision to drive automation and efficiencies where possible.
  • Collaborating on component and property naming exercises to ensure consistency and alignment with industry standards.
  • Work closely with content authors to outline and document standards that solve needs across a wide range of use cases to ensure scalability.
  • Expert written and verbal communicator with deeply rooted curiosity; eagerly seeks information to form holistic POV of a challenge and cultivates influence with cross-functional teams to overcome roadblocks in the way of achieving goals.
  • High internal initiative, comfortable working proactively and independently to anticipate needs, deadlines to deliver on organizational objectives.
  • High attention to detail and compelled to create structured organization of systems, projects, files, and other work product.
Qualifications

Required:

  • 3-5 years working with content management or digital asset management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in design, communications, technical writing, information management, library science or similar.
  • Website experience preferred.
  • Successful track record of working across business lines, delivery teams, and risk partners.
  • A keen understanding of the end-to-end content lifecycle across content strategy, ideation, production, distribution, and measurement. 
  • Proven content/editorial experience in an advertising or marketing environment
  • Power user in defining and implementing taxonomy and scalable solutions for a digital asset management/content management system; Adobe Experience Manager experience a plus.
  • Ability to synthesize complex or technical information from multiple stakeholders into a compelling POV that hooks our audience.
  • Samples of successful thought leadership content and editorial strategy
  • Experience with Microsoft office products.
