Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Marine PIMS Manager to join our Marine team in Kennesaw, GA. The Marine PIMS Manager will manage, build-out, govern, train, drive adoption of and administrate the global, enterprise-wide PIM/DAM (Product Information Management/Digital Asset Management) solution - an integrated, digital single source of truth for product data and assets across all Yamaha Business Units, Yamaha affiliates, products, and product lines, reducing costs and increasing revenues while serving Digital Transformation goals of Yamaha.

- Identify, create, and manage taxonomies, schema, governance, and structure necessary to create a single source of truth for all Yamaha Business Units, products, and supporting visual assets, across a worldwide organization, yet with individual market flexibility at the national and international levels (i.e., affiliates) in alignment with Digital Strategy, Digital Transformation, and other business initiatives.
- Cross-functional management of SAP, ISD, Digital Strategy, and other internal groups to
- develop and optimize the data model and capabilities of the PIMS/DAM solution within and
- between all Yamaha Business Units, in alignment with current and future business direction
- Manage inputs to, and outputs from, the PIMS/DAM system, to include templated print
- outputs sufficient to create catalogs, product sheets, and other product information-related
- documents, both print and digital
- Oversee day-to-day system functions and performance, and product readiness monitoring,
- input of new product information, workflow creation and monitoring, and publishing/outputs
- Manage all process and business logic in the on-boarding, build-out, and subsequent
- operation and improvement of the PIM/DAM system(s)
- Provide support and troubleshooting functions for PIM and DAM users to resolve system and
- user problems, and enacts solutions on a local, national, and international level.
- Manage BU Admins and serve as Super Admin for worldwide PIM and DAM systems,
- including build-out, integration, and on-going support of PIM and DAM systems
- Responsible for relational database integrity, including data cleansing and migration activities
- Develop system specific KPIs and monitor/report progress, including devising and
- enacting solutions necessary to keep the system functional and productive
- Manage integration of subsidiary and affiliate organizations’ product information into
- PIM/DAM system
- Manage placement and updating of all on-going forms of product information on their various
- media, to include regular review of same for continued accuracy and relevance.
- Serve as senior-level contributor and PIM/DAM Subject Matter Expert for digital
- transformation initiatives relative to product data/information/asset management
- Manage cross-divisional and departmental recommendations and requirements of OEMs,
- OEM Application Engineers, Service, Sales, Dealers, and others as necessary to optimize
- current and/or future system performance
- Highly autonomous regarding structure, development, and administration, including vendor and/or process management.
- Fully autonomous for obtaining cooperation and consent of necessary parties inside and outside of Yamaha as necessary for completion of assigned duties
- 7-10 years’ experience with management and administration of product information/data management (PIM, PDM, MDM) and digital asset management (DAM) platforms and tools, to include integration across multiple software platforms, including e-commerce. Inriver PIMS experience is a huge plus.
- 5-7 years’ project and implementation management experience across multiple business units and international locations
- Systems management experience, including integration and mapping (SAP a big plus)
- Process development and optimization experience required
- Demonstrable experience in Change Management required
- Strong cross-functional team leadership skills required
- Technical knowledge required (development skills not needed)
- Project management skills/experience very helpful
- Knowledge of marine or automotive product information environments a big plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
- Must be proactive, and an enthusiastic self-starter, able to take initiative and excel without direct supervision, and work within and/or lead a team on a project basis
- Proficiency in MS Office 365 (i.e., Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.)
- required, as is the proficiency necessary to rapidly learn and utilize various Yamaha Internal Systems (YMBS, YWMS, etc.)
- Outstanding organizational, communication, relationship-building, and collaboration skills at all
- business levels required. Multi-cultural work environment experience preferred
- Travel: periodic travel with advance notice (i.e., product launch events, meetings, boat shows, etc.) Boating background/experience and/or a love of the outdoors very helpful
- Must perform all other duties outstandingly and consistent with guidelines, as assigned
