Job summary
The Red Hat Internal Communications team is looking for an experienced Enterprise Document Librarian to join us. In this role, you will take the lead in organizing Red Hat's intranet and document taxonomies used by over 15,000 associates. You'll work on all aspects of document management, including translations, approval workflows, web services, and aligning multiple content repositories. You will have opportunities to work on web services, mobile devices, desktop software, business process management (BPM) workflows, and portal websites. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

Primary job responsibilities
- Be responsible for metadata cataloging, structure, versioning, storage, archival, and display for internal documents including images, video, web documents, office documents, and PDF
- Maintain and monitor policies and procedures for document classification, handling, and storage
- Assist new users and maintain user-level guidelines and documentation
- Coordinate document updates with teams or individuals
- Help guide how the intranet is organized and maintained
- Lead content oversight groups to regularly review site processes and improvements
- Partner closely with IT’s document management and collaboration team on database and content repository management and other technical processes
Required skills
- Experience using document management tools or metadata formats like Jive, Igloo, Alfresco, SBS, XML, etc.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Solid coordination skills and attention to detail; ability to work with extensive amount of information
- Motivated with the ability to work with little direct supervision; positive attitude toward challenges and growth
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts into plain language that non-technical associates can understand
The following are considered a plus:
- Experience in administering document management systems
- Basic HTML knowledge; light scripting skills (JavaScript, template languages, Python, etc.)
- Master of Library Science degree
