The opportunity
 
We are looking for a visual content and design specialist role within our global BMCl iTGM team. You will be responsible for imagery and visual impact across ey.com, including: application and evolution of visual design governance and guidelines, consultation on conceptual illustration, art direction, optimal use of graphic and data visualisation, creative direction of image selection plus oversight of global visual asset management for the business (DAM system).

Your key responsibilities

In this role, you will elevate distinctiveness and visual brand impact of ey.com across all design templates by identifying brand-compliant opportunities to optimize use of imagery, illustration, graphics and data visualization – while ensuring global-to-local brand consistency and risk-free rights management of visual assets.

Embed digital visual creative direction and best practice:

  • Lead the Central Pictures Team, maintaining and evolving EY’s digital image guidance to enable optimal use of our distinctive visual identity in digital channels (responding to changing market conditions where necessary), and directly advise BMC teams on visual asset ideas and imagery for digital content across the client lifecycle
  • Act as brand guardian for EY’s editorial and visual identity guidelines. Evangelise the brand’s position internally and externally and make sure all visual and design content is ‘Authentic, Curious, Inspiring and Dialogue-shaping’
  • Brief and manage collaborating creative agencies for imagery, graphics, data-visualisation, conceptual illustration / artwork
  • Expand EY’s use of innovative data visualization and storytelling in digital content and experiences – identify new tools, templates and vendors to experiment with
  • Constantly review ey.com to identify new opportunities for visual impact or upgrade of existing experiences
  • Support on tech / CMS problem-solving to achieve optimal display of visual assts across all devices
  • Produce and iterate visual asset training material for multiplatform dissemination (inc SEO best practice for visual assets)
Efficiently manage visual assets for maximum efficiency and ROI:

  • Take ownership of all aspects of global content within the Brand, Marketing and Communications Digital Asset Management system
  • Work with key stakeholders to enhance and develop EY’s asset strategy, paying attention to content re-use, asset license tracking and analytics
  • Work with regional and global content owners to ensure that all assets and their associated data are stored in the BMC DAM  system
  • Work with external vendors and internal teams, from across EY, to enhance and develop new asset management features and functions
  • Develop and manage relationships with asset stock houses, ensuring all relationships are BRETed. Take ownership of the global asset licensing process
  • Work with global financial and legal teams to resolve invoicing or licensing disputes around asset usage
Skills and attributes for success

  • Ability to see the bigger strategic picture and deliver ideas and innovation that provide measurable impact against a long-term vision
  • Expert competency and experience in developing visually-led content and design for external audiences – a background in digital and print publishing is essential
  • An art director’s eye for a striking composition
  • An interest in experimenting with new content formats
  • Initiative and creativity – an ability to think beyond the obvious and recommend visual art, imagery and interactive design that engages audiences
  • Ability to problem-solve, pivot priorities and work under pressure, to tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and experience of networking in a wide range of situations and with people at all levels within organizations, including global leadership
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity, as this role will involve daily interaction with people in countries around the globe  - and will involve selecting imagery for use across all markets
To qualify for the role you must have

  • Previous experience in working within an enterprise CMS (ideally AEM)
  • Advanced understanding of Adobe Creative Suite products (e.g. Photoshop) and strong practical working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Ppt)
  • An up-to-date knowledge of asset copyright and associated ethical usage guidance and issues
  • Good knowledge of image stock houses or other sources of affordable, commercial, rights-cleared imagery
Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience in defining governance, process and front-end tech specifications for Digital Asset Management systems
  • Experience in creating visual and image brand guidance policy, guidelines and documentation
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity, as this role will involve daily interaction with people in countries around the globe  - and will involve selecting imagery for use across all markets
What we look for

We’re looking for an experienced, creative and high energy individual with a minimum of 10 years experience in a marcoms role or in the media / publishing industry.
