The Digital Asset Strategist (DAS) is an experienced professional managing the Digital Asset Management (DAM) solution and providing strategic expertise. As the Digital Asset Strategist, you will be considered the subject matter expert and take the lead on all aspects serving as the primary manager/administrator. This is an exciting role that provides the opportunity to set strategy and manage implementation at an early stage - driving cross-department adoption of the DAM solution for storage, utilization, and reporting of all digital content (Work In Process and Approved).

The Digital Asset Strategist will help build the strategic roadmap based on corporate priorities and work with all content producing areas for successful implementation and ongoing management. Your role will drive implementation including creating the taxonomy, metadata/tagging structure, permissions, workflows/integrations and other items based on roadmap. In addition, the Digital Asset Strategist will own, manage, and provide input on DAM workflows to drive efficiencies tied to production processes.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for developing and leading overall strategy, implementation, organization, and workflow of enterprise Digital Asset Management system and integrated workflows
  • Responsible for assigning appropriate metadata to assets as well as cataloging assets to ensure accurate usage rights and ease of search
  • Manage intake of assets into the DAM system, ensuring content meets brand and technical standards
  • Create and implement metadata standards and best practices to support easy tagging and search within the DAM
  • Lead User training and provide assistance with all aspects of DAM system – liaison with operations, vendors, IT, agencies, and users as primary contact and subject matter expert
  • Act as DAS ambassador to increase adoption and best practices through ongoing education, training, and support
  • Develop and maintain documentation, user workflows and policies and permissions
Qualifications

Required skills/Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience working with DAM solutions, metadata standards, governance principles, and rights management
  • Demonstrates deep knowledge of databases, media storage best practices, technologies, processes in digital content formats & standards
  • Experience implementing a new DAM solution within an enterprise environment
  • Demonstrated ability to implement information science standards and best practices in a digital asset management system
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of workflow management needed to lead the development and implementation of workflow systems within DAM
  • Working knowledge of digital/graphic file formats and proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe CS, Photoshop) and other design software
  • Proactively identify, investigate, and implement solutions for wide spectrum of issues, including usage and roll-out of additional capabilities, data integrity
Preferred skills/Experience:

  • Experience with Aprimo Digital Asset Management system, preferred
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to prioritize tasks, manage projects/timelines, and attention to detail
  • Strong critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Action oriented – own and drive projects
Education/Certificates:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science or relevant work experience with a DAM
  • Additional DAM certificate/courses, a plus
