As the Digital Asset Manager you will handle the acquisition, cataloging, organization and protection of all digital assets. This could include large video files – raw footage as well as edited videos, image files and photographic assets, audio files, and on-premise or online files encompassing intellectual property and marketing materials. The Digital Asset Manager must be equally skilled in people, processes, and the technology itself in order to fulfill the role.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Responsible for ongoing maintenance of the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system and asset archives. Facilitate the organization of assets for easier access. Ensure assets are properly uploaded, named, tagged, organized, with the appropriate permissions. Includes general system upkeep and organization, maintain and expand robust metadata taxonomy, expire assets, resolve conflicted uploads, upload profiles, portals, collections, verify permissions, metadata and assets up to date
- Proactively monitor uploads, track and validate metadata and user interactions to ensure system protocols are being met. Proactively monitor system health and address any potential concerns with systems
- Support teams when needed with asset uploading, tagging, organization, distribution, as well as system user support. Connect with users to address any additional training needs, and/or needed system/workflow improvements
- Assist with footage transcoding and uploading to support streamlined team access to raw footage
- Fulfill asset requests by acting as an archival resource, curating and pulling visual assets required for use by internal partners, external partners and content development teams.
- Support and coordinate workflows and communications with internal teams and outside partners for timely transfers of assets
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience working with digital media, including transcoding video, manipulating media in programs like Adobe CC programs, DaVinci Resolve, Media Encoder, Final Cut
- Working knowledge of FTPs and FTP clients
- Experience with project management and programming
- Effective interpersonal skills. Good judgment and ability to interact with different levels of management and Teams
- Previous experience in entertainment media is a plus
- Previous experience or strong knowledge of video editing is a plus
- This role will be hybrid, but must be able to be in office at Virgin Galactic’s Tustin, CA “Flight” office minimally two days per week and “work from wherever” the remainder of the week.
- This role may also require occasional travel to Mojave and New Mexico/Spaceport.
