The Digital Asset Manager (DAM) position exists to facilitate and manage the Focus Asset Management (FAM) initiative, using a combination of enterprise-level technology, library management practices, and systems thinking to collaborate with key members of the organization to create and maintain a digital asset management strategy. This role ultimately supports the ministry’s wider content and marketing objectives with a vision for integrated systems and processes. This position will be a leader, as well as liaison for the marketing, content, and creative production teams to deliver efficiencies and best stewardship practices for all ministry content efforts.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
 
  • Partners with Creative, Content, and Marketing Operations teams to create, implement, and maintain a highly integrated Digital Asset Management (DAM) practice for the organization
  • Partners with key business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to lead the DAM vision, guiding principles, prioritized use cases/end-user experiences
  • Serves as the face of DAM for the organization, reaching across organizational levels to champion and evangelize DAM as ministry stewardship
  • Continuously fosters adoption and uses good change management tactics to ensure the successful utilization of DAM
  • Develops, monitors, and maintains organizational DAM reporting and success measures
  • Drives the organizational DAM practice towards greater maturity along the DAM maturity model
  • Collaborates with the Marketing Operations team to develop role-specific user training to improve system architecture and design efficiencies
  • Develops organizational protocols for downloading, renaming, rating, grouping, archiving, and ingesting of DAM assets
  • Maintains a broad understanding of the organizational asset types, brands, and product lines
  • Develops and maintains a deep understanding of organizational Intellectual Property Rights Management
  • Maintains a current knowledge of the DAM industry, solutions, best practices
  • Develops and maintains expertise in how the DAM integrates with other enterprise technology solutions such as Sales Force, Project Management, CMS, CDN, Video Asset Management (VAM) and Media Asset Management (MAM)
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
 
  • Functions as Lead for the ministry DAM practice
  • Acts as an advocate for creative and content producers where required and directed
  • Mentors and trains users around the organization
  • Other duties as assigned
Managerial Breadth/Scope of Job:
 
  • Direct supervision of DAM Coordinator and temp/contract DAM employees as needed
Working Environment/Physical Requirements:
 
  • Office environment. Occasional travel required a couple of times a year

Knowledge/Experience:
 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business-related major or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years of experience working with or managing an enterprise content management or digital asset management system for a large client or company
  • 3+ years in project management, DAM, marketing technology-related implementations, and/or strategic planning roles
  • Desirable: A Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree
  • Desirable: Active engagement in the DAM community
  • Proven success in previous production support environments with asset management, utilizing enterprise-level solutions.
  • SAAS content administration experience
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Technical acumen in marketing technology

  • Ability to operate as a liaison; to identify needs/opportunities and link resources across the ministry
