AJC’s Global Communications Department seeks a Freelance Digital Asset Manager who will be responsible for efficiently transitioning the agency’s creative assets from various storage platforms, into a digital asset management (DAM) system. Creative assets include images, gifs, videos, and stock photography, among others. This person will transfer, appropriately tag, organize, and curate a large amount of assets. This project is projected to last between 3-5 months.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Transfer of all creative assets, in coordination with AJC’s Global Communications and IT departments, into the new digital asset management (DAM) system
- Review, organize, tag, and curate, including adding relevant information and details, for a wide variety of assets (images, video, graphics, and audio files)
- Create and document tags/taxonomy fields for users to search for all assets
- Build folder structure and define asset maintenance protocols, including curation and tagging protocols that support AJC's digital asset needs
- Review materials owned and used by AJC to determine and document details on usage rights; assist with obtaining rights/permissions and managing expiration dates
- Clean up files by removing duplicate, repetitive, and unnecessary assets
- Revise and edit images as needed
- Advise on best practices for naming conventions and ensure images are uploaded adhering to those conventions
- Provide recommendations for optimal user experience
- Liaise between AJC departments to develop best practices for DAM users
- Oversee training of Global Communications digital asset team on newly implemented system of archiving processes and best practices
- Bachelor’s degree required and at least two years relevant experience
- Experience working with a digital asset management system, including experience with tagging/taxonomy protocols and asset migrations and deployments
- Experience working with Canto, a plus
- Excellent research abilities
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud
- Extreme attention to detail
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- A self-starter who is able to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Excellent organization and time-management skills
- Photo editing experience preferred
