Digital Asset Management Specialist

The Digital Asset Management Specialist is responsible for ensuring all content is stored within the Asset Management tool.  This individual will gather all assets, perform all levels of Quality Checks to ensure the files are complete and saved appropriately for ingestion. This individual will also have a strong background in rights management so assets can be tagged appropriately with usage rights.  They will also maintain taxonomy and asset hierarchy models to ensure successful search functionality by the end users.

Responsibilities

Asset Management

  • Responsible for managing uploads, metadata and organizing all content within the Digital Asset Management solution.
  • Manage the daily file requirement needs of a fast-paced ecommerce business by providing data and assets per specifications.
  • Managing user access and roles for both domestic and global areas
  • Responsible for developing and implementing a global Metadata Schema and Keyword Taxonomy across system for use globally.
  • Develop and implement strategy associated with the cataloging, annotating, storage, retrieval and distribution of creative digital assets which include photography,
  • Responsible for daily operations of ingesting, curating, organizing, and general asset maintenance and management in the DAM system.
  • Responsible for digital asset lifecycle maintenance.
  • Manage data administrators in proper maintenance of creative assets in order to assure a current and up to date centralized repository.
  • Global asset ingestion as required – including knowledge of international taxonomy.
Customer Service & Project Management

  • Work cross-functionally with various internal and external teams
  • Collaborate across internal, external and global teams in order to leverage DAM system functions and in the development and modification of digital workflows
  • Train and facilitate proper usage of DAM system across all departments and regions.
  • Serve as the power user for the best practices, process adoption and in-house expert for the DAM solution and be global Champion.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and manage vendor to develop solutions on technological issues and resolutions
Graphic Design

  • Open and review all files to determine if specifications for ingestion are met.
  • Review all artwork layers to ensure accuracy of files to ensure ingestion is completed accurately the first time.
  • QA assets after ingestion to ensure all graphic images were ingested and linked accurately prior to publishing.
  • Provide files to Regulatory to ensure all files are registered with the states to reduce or eliminate company fines.
  • Monitor automated workflow of assets from vendors to ensure all assets are provided via system.
User & Rights Management

  • Manage all permissions and roles for internal and external global users helping to ensure compliance.
  • Evaluation of rights language provided by agencies to tag accurately tag assets to minimize company lawsuit risks.
  • Coordinate with Production and Legal to assure proper translation of contractual information into rights management module in DAM.
  • Traffic missing releases from agencies prior to allowing content to be ingested, reducing corporate risk.
Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Communications, Project Management, Graphic Communication, Graphic Design or equivalent required
  • 3+ years of design/agency experience including in-depth knowledge of standard art development programs on both PC and MAC formats required
  • 5+ years working with Asset Management systems
  • Project management skills with graphic development, pre-press and printing knowledge preferred
  • Experience in rights and release management a plus
