The Digital Asset Management Specialist is responsible for managing the lifecycle of all creative digital assets (images/photography, artwork, video, etc.) across the Medical Teams organization with emphasis on asset ingestion, tagging, organizing, distribution of and archiving assets. The DAM Specialist will oversee the implementation and management of the DAM tool, which will house all creative assets across the organization.

This individual will oversee the influx of new digital assets into the DAM system, ensuring best practices and processes set in place are upheld to ensure the most efficient use of the system. This person will be responsible for distribution and communication of available content to the broader organization. This role will report to the Global Content and Video Producer.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties:

  • Ensure inbound photo, video and story content meets organizational brand standards.
  • Create and disseminate internal communications around Marketing SharePoint and DAM system to engage internal users around new marketing content to improve internal storytelling and information sharing.
  • Review and edit inbound story interviews for content, grammar, and consistency from domestic and global content collectors, ensuring the story and information are complete for approvals. Return edit requests to collectors as needed.
  • Analyze content usage metrics and distribute content feedback reports to country content staff for insights on content usage and future improvements.
  • Process inbound digital asset management system (DAM) content adding appropriate metadata, correcting photos with the Adobe app, and brand checking social and other video submissions for accuracy.
  • Responsible for ensuring consent compliance of inbound assets.
  • Improve user experience in the Digital Asset Management tool.
  • Collaborate with comms focal points to ensure images within the library are compliant and approved.
  • Improve and apply archival and metadata standards within the Digital Asset Management system.
  • Provide quality control for all metadata added to the system to assure accuracy and consistency across the company. This includes applying controlled metadata, tags and following defined processes.
  • Lead content check-ins with assigned country communications officers, seeking information and input for marketing content and planning content requests for the upcoming quarter.
  • Project manage content request and review workflows.
  • Manage inbound content requests from internal stakeholders including country comms officers, marketing, development, and other content-dependent parties.
  • Uphold Medical Teams photo policies with review checks on internal presentations, communications channels (SharePoint, Teams, emails), and other inbound consent check requests.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute content trips to support brand and fundraising content funnel.
  • Liaise with Field Ops and your assigned countries as the marketing representative, facilitating fact checking, information sharing, and content review requests. Disseminate information to internal stakeholders.
  • Support global content community of practice with ongoing trainings and communications on the DAM.
  • Create and maintain a communications manual in SharePoint, organizing technical reference documentation on photo and consent policies, content collection how-tos, video brand reference documents, digital asset management and more into an easily digestible format.
Other duties:

  • Support safeguarding of program participants and employees through promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the code of conduct provisions of Medical Teams Protection from Sexual Exploitation & Abuse, Child & Vulnerable Adult protection, and harassment-free workplace policies.
  • Utilize volunteers when appropriate.
  • Attend and collect stories of impact and images at U.S.-based clinics.
  • Write blog posts for the blog team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTIFICATIONS

Required:

BA/S or equivalent in a relevant field required Journalism, marketing, business administration, or related field.

Experience:

2 3 years' experience preferred, in the areas of digital asset management, user experience design and/or writing/editing for a variety of audiences.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Knowledge:

  • Adobe Creative Suite proficiency (Lightroom, Bridge)
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Sharepoint
  • User experience design
  • Metadata tagging
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong intercultural skills are required
  • Multiple languages spoken is a plus (English, Spanish, Amharic, Swahili, French are spoken in our operating areas)
  • Photography skills a plus
