SAIT's dynamic Marketing team leads the institutional Marketing and Recruitment Plan, manages brand, marketing and recruitment initiatives, and operates key digital marketing channels.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Recruitment, you will coordinate and champion design projects and publications in support of your assigned schools, departments, and programs. You are a creative and tactical marketing professional with experience in developing marketing materials that drive customer/student acquisition.

You are a trend-seeker, and more importantly, a trend-setter. Your designs are cutting-edge and innovative. As a member of the Marketing team, the Design and Publications Specialists are responsible for designing and managing the creative design and production of SAIT’s major institutional publications – both for print and digital channels. You are comfortable designing for the web or for traditional media, and you understand the nuances of each. You will develop and maintain strong, productive relationships with campus departments to ensure materials are up-to-date and delivered according to the institution's priorities, requirements and the SAIT academic year.

You have exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to cultivate strong relationships and partnerships with various stakeholders including prospective students, parents, alumni, partners, faculty, staff, and suppliers. In ensuring client satisfaction, you show a passion for quality and attention to detail. You are recognized as a community and consensus builder and work to create a collaborative environment leading to extensive stakeholder buy-in and engagement. You are patient when you need to be, and bold when the objectives require it.

The Role

Recruitment Marketing

  • Coordinate and appropriately resource internal and external creative partners
  • Identify and help execute photo shoots, help identify locations, confirm logistics, recruit talent, and ensure appropriate visuals are developed for institutional publications and sait.ca
  • Ensure the SAIT brand, tone, voice and identity are consistently reflected in  materials and help educate others about those standards
  • Review and approve the application of our visual identity to marketing materials and merchandise designed and produced for other departments to ensure our creative partners are using our guidelines correctly
  • Ensure brand guidelines and assets are up-to-date and are adapted for and available on sait.ca
  • Provide graphic design and production support for advertising, web graphics and print materials as needed
  • Update institutional templates and review publication guidelines on an annual basis, create new products as needed
  • Maintain the creative services resources database and help maintain SAIT’s Digital Asset Management (DAM) Library
Client Services

  • Collaborate with multiple client groups to source and verify content, build publication copy decks, provide copy development, editing support and proofreading to project teams, and manage the content review and approval process
  • Ensure project planning includes stakeholder input and considerations.
  • Support and help lead a client-centred approach in all aspects of the work we do, with a focus on transparency and inclusion.
Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in graphic design or visual communications
  • Member of the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada considered an asset
  • 3 to 5 years related work experience in the production of print publications including content development, editing and proofing, project coordination and managing approval processes
  • Three years of related work experience in brand management, design and print production experience
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, including editing and proofing skills
  • Strong understanding of how to effectively develop and produce print and digital publications
  • Project management and client services skills, collaborative team member, and able to manage multiple client projects and deliver on deadlines
  • Organized and detail-oriented, able to maintain quality control and consistency in the look and feel of SAIT’s institutional publications
  • Expert use of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Good working knowledge of print buying, graphic design and production
  • Ability to present publicly to large and small audiences on marketing strategies, trends, and the work that we do.
  • Working-level skills with the Microsoft Office Suite.
