About the Role
The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens’ Digital and Technology division is seeking a Digital Asset Management Specialist to oversee the organization, maintenance, and retrieval of institutional digital assets using our Digital Asset Management System Cortex (known internally as RAIL). The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of digital asset management principles and technologies, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for ensuring the accuracy and accessibility of our digital assets.

Essential Duties
- Support the development and implementation of a digital asset management strategy that supports the organization's goals and objectives.
- Maintain and update the digital asset management system (DAM) to ensure that all digital assets are properly described and made accessible to appropriate groups in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient and effective use of digital assets across the organization.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the DAM system, including troubleshooting issues, providing user support, and training users as needed.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the use of digital assets.
- Work with stakeholders to identify and prioritize digital asset needs and develop plans for acquiring or creating new assets as needed.
- Keep up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in digital asset management and make recommendations for improvements to the DAM system.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in library science, information science, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in digital asset management, with an understanding of DAM principles and technologies.
- Experience administering enterprise digital asset management software.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of digital asset file formats and metadata standards.
- Familiarity with copyright and intellectual property laws related to digital assets.
- Master’s degree in library information sciences, archives management, or similar
- Experience with Cortex by OrangeLogic
- Experience working in a cultural heritage organization (library, museum, archive)
- Familiarity with museum collections management systems (including TMS), integrated library systems, and web publishing technologies (Drupal, Wordpress)
