We are looking for a DAM Manager (Digital Asset Management) to be based in either our Southampton or London Paddington office on a 12 month FTC basis. Our Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform houses all rich media content consumed by digital and print platforms across the group. The DAM Manager will ensure the platform evolves to meet the changing needs of the business and the quality of data is managed and controlled to ensure maximum efficiency of the tool.

Supported by an IT project team on IT delivery and change management and the Head of Content & Creative within the OEB (Own Exclusive Brand) function on business needs, this role will ensure the successful roll out and development of the tool and design of data governance.

The DAM Manager will need to be able to communicate effectively with International teams and assist these users by escalating any technical concerns or obstacles they may be encountering. At the same time, you will also need to set governance standards and work with colleagues to ensure they are followed.

Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for data quality and completeness within the Kingfisher DAM. The data types include but are not limited to image, product and descriptive metadata, users and security policies.
  • Monitoring user adoption, system usage and trend analysis in relation to the relevant data requirements
  • Monitor internal search terms & advise users on additional tags that may be useful to the DAM users.
  • Updating the Kingfisher naming convention document to include any new types of assets the team may begin to create.
  • Take an active part in the DAM steering group to steer the development and direction of the DAM
  • Identifying training needs within the Operating Companies and recommending any remedial action or interventions.
  • Supply all training materials to support users of DAM in line with the tasks they perform in the system.
  • Attending regular meetings with the Product Owner and 3rd parties to ensure product enhancements are in-line with business objectives
  • Implementing, identifying, tracking and reporting on KPI’s.
  • Drive a different approach to vendor engagement across teams to support the department KPI of increasing approved vendor content
  • Train & support all Kingfisher producers in asset management principles.
Skills Required

  • Experience of managing and manipulating data models in excel and content management systems.
  • Basic understanding of photoshop and image editing software.
  • Knowledge of creative production lifecycle.
  • Background of working in a web content environment handling the data used to power content delivery, preferably in retail
