The role of the content manager is to develop and govern written content that reflects Mace’s position as a global industry leader and supports the business to win work.

Mace is undergoing substantial digital transformation to support our 2026 Business Strategy and this role will make a major contribution to shaping and delivering the brand. As part of the content strategy, we are looking to procure a best-in-class digital asset management (DAM) and enterprise content management system (CMS).

The ambition of the DAM and CMS is to transform our content governance model. We are looking to implement a secure central solution for the creation, publication, management, storage and measurement of written and visual assets.

This role will work alongside a digital project manager to procure the best system and then develop the appropriate processes to support content governance and workflow. Following a thorough content audit process (managed by this position), it will look at the role that written content plays across the entire customer journey; identifying opportunities for content to better support work winning and build brand awareness.  

Alongside implementing a new DAM system, the role will be responsible for working with our corporate communications and bid teams to produce high-quality content. This will include writing thought leadership articles, hero content for bids, reports, case studies, project profiles, personal profiles/CVs, video scripts and social media posts, and supporting the marketing business partners and digital marcomms team to deliver content-led campaigns.

It is essential that you have experience working with a DAM system and are proficient in writing high-quality creative content for a range of audiences across different channels. You will be as interested in content governance as in researching subjects, interviewing stakeholders and crafting complex information into a compelling narratives.

You must be used to working with a style guide and be a confident copy editor with excellent attention to detail.

The role will offer you the opportunity to engage with all parts of the business and build relationships with key stakeholders as you develop your skills in content strategy, management content creation.  

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the digital project manager to procure a best-in-class content management system and digital asset management system.
  • Working with colleagues to develop the content strategy across the whole customer journey.
  • Creating, editing and proofing high-quality written content for use across external and internal communications channels, ensuring that content is timely, clear and consistent, and reflects Mace’s tone of voice and house style.
  • Auditing all existing written content and identifying opportunities for additional assets.
  • Developing a content governance and workflow process that supports our new systems.
  • Working directly with internal stakeholders to develop and deliver content plans that support the business strategy and identified bids.
  • Writing thought leadership articles, reports, case studies and profiles for digital channels.
  • Measuring and reporting on content engagement - evaluating data, developing reports and evaluating content plans.
  • Establishing and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Acting as an ambassador of the Mace brand - providing advice and support.
  • Keeping abreast of content trends and digital technologies.
  • Supporting the team to achieve the objectives in the marketing and communications strategy.
  • Being familiar and compliant with Mace policies and processes.
About you

You have experience of copy editing to house standards and style coupled with experience working with a DAM system. You have experience in governing content across multiple departments and conducting research for producing high-quality content. You have project management skills and the ability to set priorities that accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities.

You are proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of software, particularly MS Word and MS Excel with a meticulous approach and good attention to detail. You have excellent communication skills - written and verbal along with a high level of creative writing experience for different channels and audiences.
