Writing on her “Off The Shelf” blog, Leala Abbot considers the type of people (as opposed to technology) required to successfully deliver DAM.  She also summarises 4 types of expert who are important for a DAM solution (based on a list in The Content Management Bible by Bob Boiko):

  • Business Analyst
  • Content Analyst
  • Rights & Usage Analyst
  • Programmer/Developer

Digital asset management is not just the system (i.e The DAM), but a combination of content management related professional disciplines. These disciplines include, but are not limited to: business management, information architecture, library and information science, software engineering/development, content creation and publications development.
